I cleverly remembered today that the Snowflake Challenge started on the 1st of January and that it's no longer the 1st. It's not the end of the world, since the Challenge is pretty relaxed on deadlines, so this is me playing catch-up. I'm posting my Challenge assignments for days 1 and 4 here, since day 3 (friending somebody new) gives me all sorts of social anxiety, I'd like to commit more time to day 2 (reccing other people's works), and day 5 (trying something new), which I have completed, won't be unveiled until Dreamwidth's 2012 Fandom Stocking goes live. Rest assured, I've completed day 5, and consider this post the announcement that I have.
Here's days 1 and 4.

Day 1: Rec 3 of my Favourite Works
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I ended up reccing mostly my older works, because the Snowflake Challenge is about being proud about your fanworks and I wanted to give some love to older stories. This isn't to say that I don't love my newer stuff (I very nearly had "And It's All Over but the Shouting" on here), but my newer works are a little less formative.

It's not escaped my notice that all three of my recced stories are drabbles or drabble based, but I'm just rather fond of that format. I think drabbles are neat, because you have to say everything you have to say in 100 words, and that really makes me, as a writer, be very precise with my word choices. I almost always like how drabbles turn out.

1 Masterpieces- an 100 word Anya drabble that I'm actually really proud of. I think Anya's a far deeper character than a lot of people give her credit for, and I love angry, vengeancy Anya. This is one of the earliest things I wrote for the Buffyverse, but I'm still fond of it, even though I like to believe that my writing has improved since 2011.

2 Rumblings of a Dying Earth- A set of ficlets surrounding the members of the Scooby Gang who survive Chosen and NFA, concerning an Apocalypse they can't avert. It's really a lot of characterization, with a lot about atonement and closure, with no real overarching plot, but I'm fond of it. I had to write some characters who I'm not confident writing about (i.e. Riley), but I like how it turned out.

3 Seasonal- A Willow fic, really a set of drabbles, about each of the four seasons and Willow's four canon romantic relationships (Tara, Kennedy, Xander, and Oz). I'm pretty much a die hard Willow/Oz shipper, so most of my Willow fic involves Oz, but I actually really liked how this turned out, even the sections without Oz. I also got to be big with the imagery in this, as drabbles really allow you to take an image or motif and run with it, which is probably my favourite thing about the format.

Day 4: Post a Fannish Wishlist
In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.

1. I would always love Willow/Oz fanfiction, especially anything set after New Moon Rising where Willow and Oz reunite and everything isn't sunshine and puppies.

2. I'd really like a BtVS and Parks and Recreation crossover fic. I can't imagine where I'd even begin for that, but I'm certain any crossover between those shows would be amazing.

3. I'd really like an Andrew Wells icon. Or a Fred Burkle one.
